5/10/2010 Our next workshop, Getting Started with Hydroponics, is on Sunday, August 1st, from 1-4. This introductory workshop will teach you the basics of how to grow plants hydroponically. It includes a brief history of hydroponics, the different systems out there and suggestions on hardy crops that are perfect for first-time growers. The best part? You’ll build [...] We like to give a big thanks to NYC Grows for inviting us to participate in this year’s festival. A huge event that marked the end of Earth Week celebrations in the city, it drew urban farmers, community gardeners, eco-crafters, sustainable technology creators, chickens(!) and more. Saturday March 20th was Eyebeam’s (eyebeam.org) Urban Wilderness Action Center — a day of events promoting guerrilla gardening, materials reuse, and food production. UWAC was produced in conjunction with Electrosmog, an international festival that introduced and explored the concept of “Sustainable Immobility”: a critique of current systems of hyper mobility of people and products [...] Lee Mandell of Boswyck Farms will be giving presentations on Hydroponics on the Waterpod on the following dates: Sunday August 16th at 1 p.m. at Pier 5, Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBPDC). |
