Boswyck Farms is a start up business. We are looking for people to be part of the core team of the company, all of whom will be working to build the business. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers or professionals looking to make a career change, or to branch out into a new line of inquiry, as on the job training will be offered. Investment at this level will be rewarded with shares in the company. Financial remuneration will be minimal to start.
Education SpecialistJob responsibilities include: developing classroom curricula (including lesson plans, activities, and field trips) for K-12 students; developing workshop content for adults and teaching adult workshops at the farm; running workshops for children and adults at outside events, including conferences and community fairs; contributing content and images to the farm’s blog, Facebook, and Twitter feed. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years experience teaching K-12 students, including experience with development of lesson plans. Masters Degree preferred, especially in the following areas: Education (Science Education strongly desired), or Sciences. |
Assistant to the Chief HydroponicistJob responsibilities include: bookkeeping, maintaining google documents/calendar & other google communications, data logging for hydroponic systems, assistance constructing hydroponic systems, assistance with tabling of and documentation (photo and video) at public events, and working with the other members of our team.
Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience in office management or administrative assistance, an an outgoing demeanor. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), QuickBooks, and all google systems preferred. Understanding of or experience with urban farming, hydroponics, botany, and/or science education a strong plus. Bachelors Degree recommended but not required. Position is part time to start; hours to increase depending on work load and availability. |
