Volunteer, internships tours, events!

Boswyck Farms seeks volunteers at all levels -whether you want a hands-on hydroponic experience for a day or a year, we’d be happy to have you. Regular volunteer days are Saturdays from 12 – 4 PM. We also have special volunteer days periodically.

Volunteer positions fall under three major categories:

  1. Design and construction assistance. Help us make systems for our clients!
  2. Crop management. Help plant seeds, track growth, and harvest delicious vegetables.
  3. Event support. This is great for people who love being in the public eye, advocating for urban farming.

Please read our full Volunteer Policy before coming to work at Boswyck Farms.

Throughout the year, Boswyck Farms hosts high-school and college level interns who are curious about the sciences, food justice, and agriculture. All of our interns help us with general farm maintenance (both indoors and outdoors), including plant care and insect control, crop harvesting and distribution, and data collection, and get to help with construction of hydroponic systems for clients. College level interns often conduct their own hydroponic research projects.

We’re happy to work with school programs (in the past we’ve worked with the New York City Farm School, Frances Perkins Academy, and the New School, among others) and with independent interns looking for a steady placement.

Whether you are an individual student looking for an interesting opportunity, or looking to establish a partnership with your school, let us know!

We’re always happy to have people visit Boswyck Farms. To schedule a tour, please email

Boswyck Farms is also available to make appearances at public events in the New York City area. If you’d like us to set up our demonstration systems at your event, drop us a line. To find out where we will be next, check out our upcoming events list.
